School built in 13 months: Chinese speed

China is already known for being one of the nations enjoying great technological advancement. It is not surprising that in the last year, even after having been the cradle of the pandemic emergency, the recovery has been exceptional. In terms of new buildings but also of technological introductions that have allowed the return to normality. As we have seen in other columns we have written, that of prefabricated buildings is no longer a fashion, but a real custom. In fact, there are many realities both residential but also in the office market, which are converting to prefabricated modular buildings. Today, our column will focus in particular on a building built in the metropolis of Shenzhen, completed in just 13 months. Are you curious to know more? So if you're ready, we can get started!

We assume that the building in question is a school center. Reason for which it is necessary that, in the conception of the project and in the construction of the same, certain parameters are respected. The design of this school is really impressive, a sign of how the speed of construction of the structure has not in the least influenced the final aesthetics. In fact, the architects sought not only to maximize the potential of prefabricated architecture, but also to create a center that could have a great social impact.

In fact, the school is multifunctional, as well as being a timely response to the strong demographic expansion in the Pingshan district. Many students could not easily be placed in any compulsory education program, due to the absence of public offices. Thanks to this study it was therefore possible, on a very small area, to build a structure capable of eliminating the strong deficit of public services in truly surprising times.

The colors that characterize the building are truly special. In addition to having a light facade, blue and yellow tones pop up here and there. But that is not all! Even when this school was designed, there was particular attention to smart eco-design solutions in order to achieve the desired results with less impact. The use of prefabricated elements has led to a drastic reduction in construction waste on site. Transport costs were also kept to a minimum and the whole team was able to work in a local factory.
We can therefore define the entire structure as an emblem of economic, social and environmental sustainability. However, the architecture studio that created this suggestive project does not want to stop here. In fact, new projects have been created on paper that can continue to represent a new trend. That relating to the reduction of environmental impacts strongly linked to projects of a social nature.
