Feng-shui and smart real estate: the news from Hong Kong

We have often talked about how Zen philosophy is fundamental to being able to live better within the home. Especially in a period like the one we are experiencing, it is essential to be able to find the right compromise between innovation and tradition. Well, the emblematic example that we want to bring to your attention today is that of a smart mini apartment built in Hong Kong. You know, when we talk about Asia, we always expect interesting news.

The object in question is a small, very small apartment that is the protagonist of the '' Smart Zendo '' project. The purpose, as anticipated, is to combine two apparently contrasting but complementary aspects: smart logic with comfort linked to the feng shui tradition. So how is this apartment characterized?

First of all, it should be noted that, after a quick renovation process, it was possible to obtain four rooms. Initially there were only two. The entire structure is fully home automation, so there are no classic switches but everything is managed via voice control. From projection screens to electronic door and curtain locks, without neglecting air conditioning and coffee! It would seem an extremely intelligent project ... but where is the Zen component? First of all it is identified in the choice of materials. As is known, the aforementioned philosophy is based on the continuum between man - nature. An indissoluble bond, not to be underestimated and to be favored even in the home environment (naturally artificial). Furthermore, the primary element of the Zen philosophy is the management of spaces. According to the designers, '' Zen '' is a state of mind, necessary to achieve inner well-being.

To eliminate all forms of stress and irritability. It is therefore useful to ensure the right space for individual furnishings, without creating a visual and physical overlap. Therefore, in this apartment, the TV is totally integrated into the walls of the furniture, the wooden floor recalls nature, despite being the perfect hiding place for numerous but invisible smart devices. The living room table is large but at the same time closable within a few centimeters. All this to allow the second basic character of Feng Shui: the cyclical change in the arrangement of the furnishings.

Well, with this project we try to make people understand how simple it is as well as essential to be able to change the layout of the environment in which you live with a few precautions. The right distances are maintained between the various furnishings to allow those who will use this property to feel at peace with themselves and not suffocated by the presence of too many objects.

This project cannot be defined as a real novelty, since in this land, the tradition of feng shui is very ancient. However, it is the link with technological innovations which, for once, are not pervasive but inclusive of a culture that goes beyond history books, but which is also realized within the walls of one's home!
