Brazil becomes sustainable: the new frontiers of construction

Christ the Redeemer, the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, the very famous and colorful Carnival, the samba are just some of the most famous and representative symbols of Brazil. The land that occupies most of South America, today is news in the field of construction.

The greater sensitivity towards environmental issues, probably due to the totally uncontaminated surrounding environment, has led to the creation and development of international action programs and policies aimed at reducing primary energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Such as ? Thanks to the Zero Energy Building.

According to the European Directive 31/2010 / CE, for the creation of these buildings it is necessary that:

The canons of sustainable and bioclimatic design are respected with an integrated approach between the architectonic and engineering components. Dynamic simulation software is used for energy design
The building is compact and oriented so as to optimize the influence of the Sun.
The casing (walls, floors and fixtures) is very insulated and shaded to avoid heat loss and overheating respectively
The systems operate at low temperature (condensing boilers and heat pumps)
Renewable energy production plants (photovoltaic and solar thermal) are installed
Energy consumption is constantly under control.

Among 150 countries, Brazil conquers the 4th position for the number of buildings with the LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), There are 235 buildings built or under construction with the LEED certification and to these are added a further 760 in the design phase. If we also look at some buildings that own other environmental protection certifications, we reach the 2,000 eco-sustainable buildings, we are talking about very high figures and a strong and dynamic sector, despite the crisis that hit the country in the last december.Basti think that in the last year the traditional building has collapsed in Brazil and at the same time the sustainable one has maintained the growth rate of 7%.

In fact, already in 2017 the "Casa Habitech", the prefabricated wooden building created by Habitech and its partners, was inaugurated in the presence of the Brazilian authorities and representatives of the Trentino region. This is an example of an eco-sustainable, high-quality building.

Moreover, from 5 to 7 November the International Smart Energy Conference - Smart Energy CIEI & EXPO 2018 will take place to broaden the debate and interaction between the main players in the various sectors involved in the renewable energy market.

During the three days, there will be workshops, technical visits, courses, debates and an exhibition to present the main new technologies and solutions for the generation of energy from renewable sources, sustainable buildings and energy efficiency.
