Apartments sales up in Malta.

Last year, apartment prices rose fast in Malta. According to the National Statistics Office, the Property Price Index increased of 2,8% compared with the same period in 2014. Notwithstanding, some analysis registered a boost in transactions, in particular in the first quarter of 2015. The number of transactions rose by 11,9%. The favorite type of building was the apartment. The largest number of sales was registered in St Paul’s Bay, where the total transactions represented the 8,7%. But also in other areas, like Tas-Sliema, Marsaskala and Birkirkara sales went up. In St Julian’s sales grew by 4,5%, as in Mosta. At the bottom of the top ten we find Swieqi, Naxxar, Haz-Zabbar and Gzira, where the percentage of transactions was of 3,0 and 2,9.
